Until NowGeddes, Anne. Until Now. 1999.264p. illus. Cedco. $49.95 (()-76~3-2ll9-O). DDC: 779,25, Geddes is arguably the most well-known photographer of babies today, and her new book is a compilation of some of her favorite photos. Broader in scope than her first book, Down in the Garden (1996), Until Now features both color and black-and-white photos, ranging in subject from a simple photo of a sleeping baby beside a ruler to the colorful garden-themed photos that filled Garden. At the back of the book, Geddes writes that. "Mother Nature never seems to get confused about color or design." and Geddes' photographs reveal her reverence for and love of nature, both in the natural world and in the innocence of her young subjects, who represent the most basic and natural state of humanity. Geddes' goal is to capture the individual personality of each child. and she does so masterfully in this stunning collection.
